All those which saw films and documentary attack of Pearl Harbor could see the precision mortal of the attack in diving of Aichi D┴1 "VALLEY". It is this type of plane which caused the most losses among the allied fleet than all the others of the Axis joined together. Very recognizable with its fixed landing gear, it became on the other hand very quickly obsolete compared with allied aviation. It was going to undergo the same treatment as slow Stuka with the hands of Spitfire at the time of the battle of England. During the first ten months of the war of the Pacific, it was going to be an unquestionable success but as of the battle of the Coral Sea, it was decimated and one decided to withdraw it aircraft carriers where it was used for to base it with ground. Its concept had been studied since 1936 and the prototype flew in January 1938. Conceived for the navy, it became less and less used and in 1944 the surviving models were used by the Kamikaze pilots. This type of plane knew two versions are the D┴1 and the D┴2. It was produced with 1492 units is 476 of the first and 1,016 of the second.
